Temporary Anchorage Devices (TADs) assist Dr. Austin in providing tooth movement to desired areas while keeping other areas stable and resistant to movement. TADs are temporary implants that Dr. Austin uses to manage several othodontic problems such as: incorrect bites, open spaces between teeth, incorrect positioning of molars, incorrect midlines, and missing teeth. TADs can also help to decrese the need for jaw surgery, especially for those patients who have an "open bite".
Dr. Austin's use of TADs has helped to decrease a patient's time in treatment because it has removed so many limitations that the field of orthodontics faced in the past! In addition to the great news of decreased time in orthodontic treatment, TADs are inserted with the use of limited local anesthesia and NO NEEDLES are used!
